Skills Bootcamp in Regenerative Land-Based Systems

Free for participants, made possible by Devon & Cornwall County Councils, Skills Bootcamps and Train 4 Tomorrow, the Apricot Centre @Huxhams Cross Farm and Landworkers Alliance present the Level 2 Skills Bootcamp in Regenerative Land-Based Systems to introduce people to the world of regenerative farming and help them gain skills for furthering their work and becoming part of the future of farming. Skills Bootcamps are part of the Governmentโ€™s Lifetime Skills Guarantee.

If you are a new entrant farmer, trainee or apprentice or a farmer/grower who would like to know more about Regenerative Agriculture then this course is for youโ€ฆ.

Funded by the Department of Education and Devon & Cornwall County Council, the Apricot Centre will be hosting Skills Bootcamps Training throughout 2024 - 2025.

This course is certified as a Level 2 equivalent by Ofqual and the Crossfields Institute as a certificate in Regenerative Land-Based Systems and also provides the Permaculture Association Certificate in Introduction to Permaculture as part of the Governments Skills for Life - Skills Bootcamps Scheme.

The Apricot Centre has been awarded a grant to be able to provide training for people who are self employed, employees (or employers!) in land based businesses and food production, making it FREE for participants.

Our bootcamp training offers an authentic education opportunity to those already working within the industry to gain further experience and knowledge in Regenerative Food Systems and an Introduction to Permaculture Qualification.

It is also a great way to expand your skills and knowledge and take your first steps in shifting towards Regenerative Agriculture from any background.

Designed for people 19+ to 103 years old!  We welcome applications from all diverse backgrounds and life experiences.  You must be Self Employed or PAYE employment. If employer funded your employer will be asked to contribute 10-30% of the cost of the course. ( ยฃ242 - ยฃ726 dependent on business size) Please contact Rachel if this may hold back your application as we have bursaries available. Please note that when applying as an individual or self-employed, you must be a resident of Devon or Cornwall. If you are sponsored by your employer, your employerโ€™s registered address has to be in Devon or Cornwall.

THIS SHORT COURSE TRAINING OPPORTUNITY WILL HELP YOU:

- Progress your career in  regenerative farming;

- Develop a further understanding of a circular food economy;

- Develop regenerative land based systems on current or future land;

- Develop your business or diversify your existing one using regenerative methods to meet the current ELMS requirements.


Topics we aim to cover during the courses:

Please note the difference between Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter versions of the course.

The content of the cohort you have chosen will be further discussed with you upon your informal interview, where we may recommend the most appropriate cohort for you based on what you would like to get out of the course.


DATES OF TRAINING 

The 12 sessions will take place on Wednesdays, 9am- 4pm. Dates are specified for each cohort upon application and confirmed once you are accepted on a course. Bank holidays and half-terms might affect course days.

You must attend 80% of the course to complete.
