Music Therapist and Occupational Therapist
Music Therapist (2014) and Occupational Therapist (2008) registered under both professions with the HCPC. Guildhall School of Music and Drama: MA Music Therapy (2015). University of Southampton: BSc Occupational Therapy (Hons) (2008).
I am a dual qualified, registered and practising Music Therapist and Occupational Therapist. I work across a range of settings within Music Therapy with a focus on adolescent mental health, trauma and adopted/ looked after children and their families. I have completed training in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) and Sensory Attachment Intervention (SAI).
My 13 years as a neurological Occupational Therapist have seen me working across the NHS and private sector with individuals of all ages, and has included work in South Africa and Bangladesh. More recently, I have used my OT experience to blend in with my psychodynamic approaches to look at trauma and it’s impact on sensory integration and profile. I am a guest lecturer on the OT programmes at both Essex University and the University of East Anglia.
I am a passionate gigging musician and songwriter, playing a range of instruments including the violin, piano, saxophone, guitar and voice. I love being outdoors, running too far and swimming anywhere and everywhere possible!
